Heaven Help Us
IMDB: “Sixteen-year-old Michael Dunn arrives at St. Basil’s Catholic Boys School in Brooklyn circa 1965. There, he befriends all of the misfits in his class as they collide with the repressive faculty and discover the opposite sex as they come of age.”
I love this movie. It is so damn cool. It has actor Andrew McCarthy in it. You might remember him from Sixteen Candles or recently in Lipstick Jungle. Point blank: He’s a babe.
Anyway, watch this movie if you appreciate great bromances and humour. This movie is perfectly awkward.

“Mad Men” returns for a third season on AMC. What will the new season bring on the heels of season two? Find out on August 16. We left the cast amid many changes, including the Cuban Missile Crisis, a takeover of the Sterling Cooper advertising agency, and news of a third Draper baby. All this and Pete (Vincent Kartheiser) professes his love for Peggy (Elisabeth Moss), but she confesses that she secretly gave birth to his child only to give it up for adoption in order to pursue her career. And self-indulgent Roger (John Slattery) left his wife for Don’s former secretary Jane.

Summer is always a very frustrating time to watch television shows. As most great shows run Fall through Spring, networks often air re-runs or crappy material or some “special” brodcasts. In my pursuit of trying to find something to keep me entertained, I stumbled upon 10 Things I Hate About You. Yes, it is based on the movie. Yes, the plot is very close to the movie.
I’ve been skeptical about the show since the start. Because really, how much material do they have to work with? Regardless, I’m giving it a shot since I’m a sucker for “Love/Hate” relationships. So far, it’s been pretty underwhelming.
However, this last Tuesday’s episode left me laughing hard. The scene I grabbed in particular. Kat eying Patrick’s body was priceless. Kat’s clear obsession over Patrick is just getting better and better. And I love watching Patrick’s getting pissed off at her, the dialogue really shines then.
Only time will tell if this show is awesome or not, but I’ll be watching next Tuesday. Hopefully the show won’t let me down…

Remember The Daze stars John Robinson, Amber Heard, Leighton Meester.
This is a film about the last day of school (for 8th graders, juniors and seniors) set in 1999.
There isn’t a “main character” in this film, it is more about a group of different friends. It’s interesting because it has your typical cliche roles, but somehow it’s not annoying at all (it makes me feel nostalgic about high school).
This movie is similar to Thirteen, except I think it is more realistic. There are also parts of it that really remind me of American Teen.
Some character highlights:
- John Robinson (Lords of Dogtown) is “Bailey” - a punker in a band.
- Amber Heard is “Lucy” - a girl with a wild streak who always wants to spice up her routine life. Her boyfriend is depressed the entire movie, because he is not graduating after failing some classes.
- Leighton Meester is “Tori” - the class Valedictorian who got accepted to Brown. She’s nervous about leaving her home behind. She decides to be irresponsible by taking shrooms with her best friend.
Also, the soundtrack rocks (all songs from the 90s)! Just listening to the songs in this movie bring back so many memories!
- For me this is heaven - Jimmy Eat World
- Unsafe Bridge - Pepper
- Alibi´s - Slightly Stoopid
- Santeria - Sublime
